Hi me again sorry to annoy
Once again I need help with a website. I have everything right but the pictures will not work. I have used two free hosting sites (webs.com and Zerocatch) each time my Index.html file works and all the links but when I load the pics they dont.
I know nothing about HTML code so I use the file uploader and load all my files from my pc into a folder of the same name on the site.
Does this make sense?? Can someone please help me??
My sites are:
http://www.vivhau.0catch.com
http://www.vivhau.webs.com

Hope I can get some help, need it for my course (u know the one making us use word for websites!!)

Thanks a million Laughing

by just taking a quick look at your site, the problem is where the images are stored. in the folder "Activity 2.2_files/" by the looks of it, that folder doesn't exist on your hosting.

looking at the very very messy code (did you use a software package to make this as their has to be 100 lines of code to each picture) you website links one of the images to http://www.vivhau.webs.com/Activity%202.2_files/image003.gif as you can see this does not exist.

I think the problem lyes with the software you used to create the site, with it linking to the images using a local address (e.g C:\users\user\documents\website\images\logo.gif) instead of what would be on the web (e.g /images/logo.gif)

I see most of that crap code has come from Microsoft word,

here is a quick 30 seconds rip of your site, and how the code should be.

Word to create a website, what course is this? Sounds like a complete waste of time.

Any course that teaches you to build a website in Word is not worth your time. If you are looking at web development/design as a career option, then they're doing you a serious dis-service.

If they had taught you even the fundamentals of basic HTML, you would easily spot why this wasn't working.

With that said however, If this is just a very small part of a generic IT skills course or something then I can understand why they haven't employed someone with genuine insight into what really is a specialty area. But they would be far better to leave it out entirely rather than go in half-assed like this and teach people bad habits and introduce them to the wrong tools for the job.

please oh please please tell me you are at high school and thus you are being FORCED to use word to make a website, as if you are actually going to any tertiary place and paying for it.... well that doesn't bear thinking about it...

then again.... I wouldn't like the thought are school are forcing this upon kids either.... ah well, I knew NZ schools are crap anyway

Hello All
I am doing a NZ Diploma In Business (not High School and yes paid for it). I think the reason we are doing this is to show what Office can do or something. I am not 100% sure and do not want to course too much of a rift between me and my lecturer until after I have been graded, will definitely mention this in course evaluation. I will not be making a site again with Word ever I can tell you that!!!
