I got a brand new tablet that came with the OEM version of Windows Home edition

I want to upgrade it to  Windows 7 Ultimate (MSDN version).

It wont let me do it (and forcing me to a Windows Anytime upgrade (which makes you either purchase or enter a anytime edition key).

Does anyone know how to upgrade without loosing my setup?

I could start fresh and install - but that would mean I loose many of the Tablet specific stuff that HP comes with that are included in the OEM disk image [Not all of which are downloadable from the HP drivers web site].

Update - tried doing a fresh install - and lost a lot of the HP added functionality..... Going to revert back... Might have to live with Home edition - but still keen to find out if there is a way. It must be a common problem - as most new low end laptops ships with OEM versions of home edition.

There's not exactly a way. You can change the key but not sure this will do an "upgrade". As for the HP functionality, the only thing you really need/want is the Wireless Manager - everything else is bloatware.

You can dowload all of those HP add-ons from their support site. I usually install my own OS then download only what I need.
