Hi there

I have an old Acer Aspire 5520 laptop runnung windows vista and it has major problems with its operating system even after i use the factory recovery disks. I want to try and install windows 7 via USB on it but the thing is i dont want anything bad to happen to the computer and i am now unable to restore it to system default because the DVD drive is stuffed. Is there anyway i can access the hidden recovery partition on the hard drive?

If that laptop has it, it should be Alt F10 or Alt F9 at startup. just after the normal acer logo etc appears.

Press and keep pressing the combo down until something looks to start (might even be a windows xp load screen)

Hope the above helps
