Oh! Last night when I did an update for my Office 2003, Guess what? Microsoft has got Office Genuine Advantage turned on too.

Mmm.... Everything at Microsoft is going GA.

Read about these here... [Google Search]

Straight from tiger's mouth... [Genuine Microsoft Software FAQs]

Update: OGA so far only affecting Office Add-ins.

Microsoft provided MS Office 2003 Professional to us for $10 as a promo though my partners work...

GA should not be a problem for anyone... I sympathise with MS over the piracy issue. There a good alternatives for those who dont wish to pay. OO2.0 is quite mature now for basic home/office use.

work just offered us something similar recently. It is for whilst we are employees of the organisation and can get a genuine copy of office 2003 for P&P from the states and i think its reduced slightly so its bout $20

Only problem I have is the 'Genuine Advantage' name, I feel that it is misleading.

But again everyone has their own opinions.
