I have an Acer T230H touch monitorhooked to a pc running Windows Vista Home Premium.
Have downloaded the driver for this monitor from Acer au.
It is a zip file and when unzipped I end up with 3 files, an ICC Profile,a Setup and a Cabinet file.
I tried right-click on the setup information file and then install but the response was The inf file you selected does not support this method of installation.
Any suggestions on how I get this driver installed?
Thanks.

  1. Try selecting your monitor from device manager. Go update driver and point it where you unzipped the files to.

Tried that, monitor is showing as generic pnp, when i point to downloaded driver it just says windows has ddtermined that the driver is up to date. Still generic.

I woul say that Generic monitor is OK, it's the touch overlay that those drivers may be for? I take it the monitor has a USB cable as well as a DVI or VGA cable?

Do you have an unknown device in your Device Manager?

This is from the Acer Support FAQ -

Q: What devices show up in Device Manager when the T230H is properly identified and installed?

A: By default, the monitor is identified as a Generic PnP Monitor in Windows. If you download the monitor driver from Acer.com and force the installation, the monitor will be identified as an Acer T230H.

When you plug in the USB cable to the T230H for touchscreen functionality, an HID-compliant device and a USB Input Device are added to Device Manager. The drivers for touchscreen functionality are separate from the drivers used to identify the monitor. The HID-compliant device and USB Input Device drivers are part of the Windows operating system and automatically installed. Only Windows 7 Home Premium, Professional, and Ultimate editions as well as Windows Vista Home Premium, Business, and Ultimate editions support this device.

Follow the link at the top - it even has a nice picture of what it should look like.  Surely running the setup program will force the driver install (and probably install some kind of acer software)
Good luck...
