Before you nut off saying its pirated blah blah, it's not. Our school brought a licence and I'm in graphics and pay graphics course fee's which went towards paying for this so I'm allowed to use it.

The problem, the 3rd disk is scratched and doesn't install right, so when I go to install I just unselect Contribute, dreamweaver, encore, flashvideo encoder and version cue 3 so it skips that disk.

It starts installing from disk 1, and doesnt show anything other than progress, disk 1. Not saying program name or anything. Then it says "insert disk 4" so I do, and then it says "some problems cocured during installation, please see below." then it says it only installed "shared components" and nothing else. I've tried many times and its still giving me the same results.

What can I do? The teacher wants the disks back tomorrow. :/

cheers, Sam.

I would say the only way around it would be to get another copy of the discs. Maybe your teacher made back-up copies?

In the meantime, you might have some luck if you made an image of the discs, and then ran each one from your hard drive using daemon tools.
It's a long shot, but by putting an image of each disc on your hard drive, ImgBurn might be more successful at reading the scratched disc. I could also just be talking out of my a*** here, but it's worth a shot.

Yeh I did try that before, last time I had the disks. The 3rd disk was scratched then too but still didn't read it past 74%

Another option is to wash the disk in warm water with soap, rinse it off and dry with a dry towel. While it wont fix a scratch, it will remove all else and that may work, I have had success before. As above, try another drive to read it, some drives are less picky than others

Can it be downloaded, and then you just use the key you have got?

Yeh I'm probably going to just do that. I'll write the key down somewhere.

And to previous poster, I'm not going to wash the disk because I don't want to risk damaging them more xDD

Thanks for your help though :)

I don't see why you can't torrent it & then use a legit key.

Yeh but last time I torrented something it had this annoying advertising virus, which would spam my screen with adverts for weird companies. Put me off it xD

I'll have a good look round and see what I find unless any of you know of a decent torrent for CS3?
