Was wondering if you guys have an idea on when Vista will be released and come preinstalled on PCs/Laptops

Dates will not be confirmed until late in this year, but I remember reading how Windows Vista would be first released to Enterprise then consumers.

In any case, you can buy some computers now with Windows XP and use the Express Upgradeoptions (if offered by the OEM). Sony New Zealand was the first to announce this locally.

Yeah but i would prefer if the laptop would be preinstalled rather than going thru the upgrade process

ditto, probably wont be out till Dec or Jan.

I'd go ahead and get WinXP + Vista Upgrade voucher now if you need a new PC now.
