There are a ton of open source Android apps that I’d love to bring to my Linux desktop. Is this possible?

Or how much effort would it be to port an Android app to the desktop? I realize the Google Play services can’t be brought over, but every other library is already open source so it should be doable to make it run alongside my GTK and Qt apps, right?

I typed "Android Apps on Linux" into Google and got this hit, among many others. Have you considered using that or similar?

I've tried http://www.jide.com/remixos-for-pc  and it seems to run well.

It installs as a separate bootable choice alongside Win10, and also connects to Google Play.
