It's been a long time since I used VNC and when I last used it the only way to encrypt it was using an SSH tunnel. RealVNC iPad application claims that the connection is encrypted, is this true or do I have to install SSH tunnels first?
oh, it does not support the bluetooth keyboard, and once you are logged on it's a rubbish experience. I remember why I stopped using VNC, what a waste of $14.
RealVNC may be indicating none too precisely above that encrypted connections are supported only with Enterprise running on the mac. I don't know why they dont give a straight answer instead of using annoying salesese.
The encryption was more a curiousity. I'll keep the app as it gives me an alternate access when the Mac mini looses the mouse (which it does frequently), so I have a way to perform a controlled restart.
The remote experience is dreadfull and due to the bandwidth hunger (even over WiFi) is not a true remote solution in any respect, so encryption is a mute point as I would not consider accessing it remotely via an iPad.
