Hi guys,
The above has been relisted on TRADE ME (brand new) and I know she wants about $2,200 reserve and the  buy now is set at $2,300.  Whats the gut feeling of you guys????  I realise apple have bumped up the specs of the white 13" 2.0Ghz but we like the aluminium one really....  So if it were you guys would you get it over the aluminium 2.0Ghz at this price.

Thanks for that Magu. Fossie by waiting what are you hoping to see come out of WWDC?

I think I can jump the gun on Fossie and say: usually WWDCs bring hardware refreshes to some products. The MacBook could be one of them, which would cause the price of the current models to drop. If anything, wait until Tuesday next week (WWDC starts Monday in the US).

Exactly.

With the white book now out performing the premium 'unibody' one, and the macbook due a refresh. I would say that a 'refresh' is very very close.

Well could I expect the 2.4 model to drop a good $500 like the buy-now price of this auction?? God it ain't a bad price actually.

The last aluminium macbook refresh was quite recently, they're unlikely to get a spec bump and if so it's probably going to be very minor. To justify the price they really need one though, guess we'll see in 4 days.

It's $2300 Vs. $2900 new. With the latest plastic macbook update the speed difference is not very significant between the "Old" 2.4Ghz unibody and the 2.13 Ghz white one going by benchmarks.

Dollar for performance ratio, you're better off with the white one even at $2300. You'd be a fool to buy a new aluminium one for $2900, that's for sure. Plus those new multi-touch trackpads are bloody awful to use, and the white one still has firewire.

Still, if you really like the unibody, then $600 off "new" is hard to argue with.

Thanks everyone for your input. Yes I see what you mean Stevenz. Going through Apple NZ and even upgrading to a 250hd on the white one as well as adding iwork it still only works out to be 2,108.00 (student rate here). Dam decisions. Firewire is for videoing purposes isn't it? We just use the one on our camera. I guess we just liked the sturdiness of the aluminium and the screen surrounds (black as opposed to white) and no discolouring issues.
