Hi

I have a Mac mini 1.83GHz with 512MB and would like to upgrade to 2G.

Has anyone upgraded their mini ? Is it hard? Anyone in Wellington willing to do this for a fee :)

it's not overly hard but not trivial- worst part is opening those old ones (putty knife or a steel ruler works well). Once you're inside you need to remove the optical drive/hard drive to get to the main board - then it's just a matter of removing the existing so-dimm and inserting the new and putting it all back together.

have a look at the video of how to do it on youtube - if you feel daunted probably best to get someone else to do it

Thanks guys.

APDV1: might take up your offer - just ordering the RAM. Do you know hwther the harddrive can be upgraded. Only came with 80GB. Is it a SATA drive 2.5' or some other Apple specific thing?

Yes it can be upgraded, although I have not done it.
A 2.5 SATA hard drive is all you need i.e. it doesn't need to be apple specific.
