When sites like the herald place those ads (unsure of their correct name) that take up the white space at the left and right of their normal content. It's easy to inadvertently click on them. But I guess that's why they do it.

Courier companies that charge for redelivery, because everyone was at work or at school etc as would be expected at the time they attempted delivery being that it was in the middle of a work day.

Most companies deliver to us between 7am and 8am.

But not Post Haste, no, that would be too sensible!

And let's not try delivering at weekends when people might be at home...oh no.

Agree. Shortland St is definitely superior in a Ponsonby kind of way : ).

Sky installers that come to someone's home to "update" the decoder and in the process removes the HDMI cable connecting the box to the 7.1 AV system and instead plugs a component cable directly to the TV.

Had to fix parents-in-law TV room because of one such person.

When the plumber has disconnected the sink for the final kitchen demolition and you forgetfully tip water down the sink. Doh! damit, no one to blame,

Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.

I have heard other stories that suggest (at least some) Sky installers are incompetent and lacking basic technical know-how. I have a friend who got into an argument with one, because she knew from me that geo-unblocking was still alive and well after the ISPs withdrew Global Mode, while the Sky installer strongly insisted that geo-unblocking was no longer possible under any circumstances. Either he was intentionally lying, or woefully ignorant.

They are people that are paid the lowest possible price to screw a dish to a house and plug in a box. You expect them to know anything about anything technical? They do have ones with a clue but they are not out there being paid under $80 (last I checked) to put dishes on houses and plug boxes in, they do the commercial and difficult installs that they can bill out at a proper rate.

Fair enough but I think they do have an obligation to be knowledgeable enough not to sabotage someone's existing set-up as described above. Lots of people have separate audio systems installed by friends and family and many do not understand how to troubleshoot them. It behoves an outside contractor to know enough to respect what is already there. Exchanging an audio HDMI connection for component to the TV does not meet this minimum requirement.

Passport photos.

Mine's now so hideously criminal looking it'll be a miracle if I haven't doomed myself to the rubber glove room on every trip for the next 10 years.  I look like I need a face transplant.

ACC levy invoices. They bear no resemblance to any form of logic ever discovered and are written in a secret lost language that looks like English but isn't....!

And then they don't show up!

I phoned to find out what the story was and the parcel was still in the depot, as it hadn't been tagged for re-delivery! "Oh, sorry about that"

Hopefully it'll arrive tomorrow, as promised.

Toll, post haste and NZ couriers who despite having instructions that say "leave in box in carport" will either stuff into the letterbox which I seldom check, or will put it ontop of the wheely bin out infront of the garage where it gets rained on.

And another no-show from Post Haste couriers. Of course, their call centre shuts at noon on Saturday so I have to wait until Monday to call them.
