Pacific Rim - Really enjoyed it. I like a good action sci-fi movie, and come on, who wouldn't enjoy gigantic robots fighting monsters? - 8/10

After Earth - Could have been much better, I'm not a fan of Will Smith's son. Story had a few plot holes and was somewhat predictable - 5/10.

I'm beginning to wonder if I really saw Gravity in 3D or not. I've had a few people say things like "best 3D ever" but I have to say that I really didn't notice the 3D all that much. A space glove floating towards me, a few globules of water and a bolt floating around, and that's about it.

Maybe it was so well done that I didn't notice it?!?

that's the point of good 3d - it's about adding depth, not about cliché water droplets floating in front of your face. Like in Avatar in the opening sequence it's about seeing the depth of the ship when the crew come out of their sleep, and with Gravity it's about the depth of seeing the earth with the shuttle and astronauts. I don't care about stuff coming out of the screen, i want to be able to see the world inside the screen.

You're not the only one who hardly noticed it... and I watched it in Imax 3D!

Hard to believe that Sandra Bullock is 49 years old btw :)

I saw Movie 43 the other day...one of the strangest and least enjoyable movies I have seen in a long time.

The opening short aside, the movie was barely funny, dragged along at a glacial pace and is completely forgettable.

Had they ended after the Hugh Jackman short, I probably would have given it a 4 out of 10.

As it stands, as an overall experience, I'd give it a solid 1/10.

Gravity Imax . Vision and sound 10 / 10 . Story line 6 / 10. The upgrade to the Imax projection and sound system about 2 months ago was certainly a big improvement but the sound was way too loud . hard to imagine it was only shot in 2K digital. People around were complaining during the preshow.. Never been a fan of Sandra Bullock but she pulled this off well.. I smell Oscar nominations in the wings..

50 Cent's Get Rich or Die Tryin' funnily enough - not so bad, a lot better than expected. I guess you have to have a bit of respect for him as he's really shown to be quite a savvy businessman.

Gravity IMAX 3D

Movie 10/10. Stunning. It was a movie experience not just another outing to the movies.

IMAX 6/10

Picture Quality: I found the picture quality really good. I do find with 3D that some aspects do not seem fully in focus even when they are the main focus point on the screen.
Sound: Yes it was loud. I found it really good though as while it was loud the quality was excellent. It really added to the experience for me.
Other: Seats were too small and close together. Seats were ripped. Wall coverings deteriorated. The place felt old and grimy and it should be classic and inviting.

The movie was a 6/10 for me, but the special effects and sound were the best I'd seen, so 9.5/10.

Interestingly I bought a new projector (3D) from Sony this past week and was completely and utterly blown away by the picture and 3D on it, something special. Even my wife who doesn't tend to be too enthusiastic said it was simply magic.

Asked a year ago I wouldn't have thought having 3D was worth it. Avatar and Avengers in 3D is something to behold.

Best movie I have seen for a long time.

And at the Embassy the Dolby Atmos 64 channel sound was amazing. In fact the director says the music was composed and mixed for a surround experience which only Dolby Atmos can provide.

Just watched Inglorious Basterds for the first time...it was....good.

Not as brutal as i expected and a lot better than I expected it to be.

man of steel bd - seems to play better at home than in a cinema 7/10
