I see Prison Break is now on Netflix, best show ever.

Really? How recently did you watch it? I watched S1 a year or two back (first time viewer) and I was fairly shocked at how predictable and pedestrian it was. A real product of US network TV of a different era with cliched writing, overly drawn characters, the construction around ad breaks interrupting the flow, an overly bombastic and loud score...

I think that we have been spoilt for choice in terms of the quality of TV programming over the past 10 or so years, and this content from HBO, Netflix etc is so differently constructed from shows like Prison Break; when returning to watch such older style programmes these differences are writ large.

First release. Met wife after S1 so rewatched S1 and enjoyed that, a lot of detail I missed. Great story great plot. I hear you re more modern TV but so many say so much content is quickfire rubbish, quantity over quality. Mate started rewatching in weekend, loves it. Enjoyed Lost as well, same type of series, intricate and detailed, but that faded at the end

I have cancelled my Amazon Prime trial subscription. There was not enough content of interest to me to remain subscribed.

After watching some YouTube catchup videos to find out where I was up to all those years ago, I watched Star Wars Clone Wars Season 5, 6 and what is available of Season 7 between Friday evening and Sunday evening. One more episode to go that drops "today" (probably actually tomorrow for us in NZ)

Watched the last episode of Devs last night.

It now all makes sense.

Was all a bit pedestrian and "artsy" for me...loud sounds instead of music score, weird pacing and odd choices of direction.

I very nearly enjoyed it, but ended up feeling like I endured it.

Watched the first 2 episodes of the new Netflix series 'Hollywood' last night. I must say we are enjoying it so far 7/10 IMDb

Just bare in mind it is an alternative history of Hollywood though it does have some recognisable characters based on actual Hollywood actors of the era. (no spoilers - sorry) That said, the premise is good. Good script and acting. But the stand outs are the sets, props, costumes, hair styles and the fabulous cars of the era. Mild sex scenes & language, racism & LGBT content.

Finished this season of Westworld last night.

I hope (based on the cliffhanger ending) that they go back to Westworld in the next season.

I didn't enjoy this season as much as the last two

For lack of much else to watch, I threw on "The morning show" by Apple TV .

Being the "judge a book by its cover" type I was not expecting to enjoy it and I never really liked Jennifer Aniston .

However, it was actually pretty good, the first episode at least.  Hopefully it doesn't descend into a soap opera .

Finished season 1 of Dark on Netflix. Not a big fan of subtitles but this show isn't too bad. On my 2nd season.

Almost like Strange Things but with adults imo.

jerry seinfeld's 23 hours to kill special on netflix.

it was a total snoozefest.

recycled old observations/jokes that were a bit whiffy the first time 'round have not improved.

better off watching a couple of episodes of the old tv series.

Didn't know you can watch Barry and I think Succession on Amazon (not NZ) Prime

Been watching Netflix after a Hiatus, some Disney and some Neon.

Netflix;

The Last Kingdom - I feel its losing its grip, I am struggling to finish it, I enjoyed the first prior seasons more.

Dead to Me - Christina Applegate, classic American sattire/dry dark comedy. Very good.

Im sad of Shooter with Ryan Phillipe wont be returning. Apparently it was one of USA Networks lowest rating Dramas. That surprises me as on Netflix it was very well received and I personally found it far more engaging than some stupid series like "Lost". You never know, there could be a spin off on another network. Ryan Phillipe is a brilliant actor and I think his Hiatus has taken him away from being a soft pretty boy look which just didnt work in action shows/movies, where now he has matured and his acting a LOT better, I can see him returning to action movies. He has the athletic build and the Tats give him the right look.

The most dissapointing TV show to get canned for me was Marco Polo and it being a Netflix series really surprised me. It was so gripping every episode. Then there was "Into the Badlands" which again was SOOOO good and gets canned, it got 80% on IMDB from 40k votes. So I find The Last Kingdom still going to be a bit of a joke in comparison to these 2 others which were far more authentic and cinematic looking.

Neon;

I didnt watch TV shows for a good 10 years but streaming has changed that. Neon imo is the best value TV Series streamer. It also from time to time gets epic movies.

Billions - this is the kind of show I would normally turn the TV off if was on 20 years ago in 4x3 Tube TV days. But this is really grippy even for an american drama about white collar crime. Sounds boring but its not and I put it down mostly to the quality of the 2 lead actors the, Bad guy and the other Bad guy pretending to be a Good guy (the Attorney).
