Distorter: Note to self, don't use Youshop for shoes anymore. It's been a while but the last time I got shoes it was only $32, $50 is a joke.
If I use the slower service, which I did in the end, it's $38, which I still think is a lot.
It took them a couple of weeks, but youshop eventually found my parcel. I have to wonder if the sender didn't put the address / box number I specified on the parcel, or if the label was damaged.
All in all the NZPost customer service was terrible. I called about six times and emailed four times before they located it. When I sent them package details it took them a week to send them to the warehouse to locate the package. But for NZ$20 it's probably still a decent service - I've had probably 25 packages and this is the first with a significant problem.
Has anyone had any packages leave youshop USA in the past few days? It took them two weeks to locate my package, once they did I paid four days ago and the package is still in the USA warehouse.
They bulk ship. I asked them once and they said their target for the cheap fee ones is to leave by Sunday.
It was over a week between amazon telling me my items were delivered and Youshop getting confirmation that items were on their way.
One day while looking through their FAQ, I did find what days they shipped on each tier with the cheaper tier only being shipping once or twice a week
Of course trying to find the information, I can't
I must have been very luck as my economy parcel shipped the day after I paid for it and is currently on its way to New Zealand
I got a YouShop email the other day, even though I hadn't shipped anything to them in the past year.
Rather than ignoring it, I called them up and they have launched an investigation. It appears they have assigned a parcel to the wrong account. There seems to be some communication issues between NZ and the warehouse, as the parcel still hasn't been removed from my account.
So, if anyone here has ordered from 'Bro Speed' with a weight of 8kg, then your parcel may take a while to show up!

I just got pair of sports shoes sent to youshop and on top of the fact they took 3 days to email me once they arrived, they have quoted me $50! To send them here!

That's insane surely?
Ok I got to the bottom of everything here.
So I had two sets of shoes shipped separately after deciding I wanted a second pair. They have repackaged both as a single parcel, so I only paid 1 lot of freight.
They didn't tell me they had done that specifically, so I was expecting to get a notification of a second pair. Essentially they put the 2 boxes side by side and shrink wrapped them type solution.
As a result I under-declared accidentally, but either way I was still under the threshold. I guess in the end I paid a relatively small amount of freight on 2 pairs of shoes, so I am happy.
All in all this was my worst youshop experience. Losing the parcel, taking around two weeks to find it, notable poor and apathetic service from NZPost. From the date it arrived at the US warehouse to arriving at my house, using the economy option, was one month. From the date I paid youshop it took 7 days to get to me in Wellington, which is pretty good.
Given I've had 20 good experiences and one poor experience I'll keep using youshop. I'll probably consider using ShipItTo for higher value parcels or things I want more quickly - I used them once and found their service and processes to be exceptional, particularly around photographing everything, and with great tracking and progress indicators. They cost a bit more though, and will only send small things via the US Postal Service, but otherwise use all the big courier companies.
YouShop China is shutting down:

Somehow, I'm too surprised.... was an odd place to have a reshipper for NZ Post.
i wouldn't buy anything of significant value direct from china! almost always a fake/vastly inferior. and the cheaper stuff comes with dirt cheap shipping there's no need to use youshop.
So, can we no longer use YouShop for buying smartphones in the USA on eBay?
we can't?
