Not as widely available in NZ as in Germany.

I know, I just wanted to stir up constructive displeasure - maybe logistics experts from the New Zealand parcel delivery services are reading this. 😉

I tried using the parcel collection from NZ Post one time - combined with their parcel re-shipping service ("YouShop"). I never received my parcel and my complaint went into a black hole.

Trying to find a tall, floor mounted door stop. How difficult can it be ? Very.

How tall? The round ones with the rubber ring would probably stack at a pinch if you need more than 90mm.

Bottom of door is 110mm, so maybe 150mm. Trying to stop glass shower door and / or its handle being opened into wall. Wall mounting doesn't really work if its to be screwed into something more substantial than gib.

Could always just use some kind of bean bag thing I suppose to just get in the way.

Could you mount a stop on the door?

I did that with my back door as there was no wall suitable.  It opens towards some cupboards and the bottom of the door is above the kickboards.  So I mounted a standard door stop on the top corner of the door and it will contact one of the cupboard doors when fully opened.

Does require a suitable landing point that won't just punch the stopper through the wall.

Be careful with a rigid, unyielding door stop, especially one that is near the edge of the door and far from the center. Tempered shower glass is just itching for an excuse to explode into a thousand pieces.

Think the problem would be the landing point, would almost definitely just be gib. And attaching it to a glass door I guess.

Thats a thought. .Maybe a bean bag thing would be better.

Handsomedan: What annoys me, is this is the umpteenth thing that has happened which will cost us money just before Christmas and I am frankly over it. It'll also take forever to get new glasses at this time of year.

If they're not exotic progressive/multifocals,...[snip]

They're precisely this.
They are $1500 "tick every box, please" glasses.

The good news is, the replacements will be ready on 23rd December, so I only have to put up with my old prescription from 3 years ago for 2 weeks.

The bad news is, my frames (which I loved) have been discontinued and when Specsavers showed me all of the like-for-like replacements, I was going to have to stump up a premium above my insurance excess, due to the fact that when I got them they were on sale, so the "replacement cost" is the discounted cost, not the actual retail cost.

I have had to compromise and get frames that I am not 100% happy with, all because of that little toerag on the bus.

If I believed in Karma, I would assume that I had been very bad indeed in a previous life.

Was there any indication of the perps' social class? Bad enough if the mother is a gang type, even worse if the mother happens to be a posh Karen.

At a guess I'd say they were lower middle-class (if there is such a thing). They seemed to be a bit special - he was possibly autistic, based on actions and post-incident actions, while she was...recovering from something? She had a distinct "former medication user" look about her face. Or she could have been tired from dealing with this crap over and over and over again.

I'm sorry that happened to you , that's utter BS on the kids part. Unfortunately there's a plague of bad parenting around and a lot of kids are never told 'no'.

Wife is a primary school teacher and sees this type of behaviour from kids all the time ... but I blame the parents cos they're supposed to be in control.

I hope the mother pays for the damage - any news on that front?

I'm currently a winter child and if collective suffering is absolutely part of your life, well then? 😉
