I tried using the parcel collection from NZ Post one time - combined with their parcel re-shipping service ("YouShop"). I never received my parcel and my complaint went into a black hole.

That's pretty bad. I hardly dare say that I've only had a problem once in 30 years and it was solved at no cost to me. Even the Chinese stuff arrived reliably.

Handsomedan: They seemed to be a bit special - he was possibly autistic, based on actions and post-incident actions, while she was...recovering from something?

That puts a somewhat different spin on things.  Noisy crowded public spaces are pretty much the worst place for an autistic kid, for which the intense anxiety they produce can manifest as provoking behaviour as a coping mechanism.

Not justifying it, just pointing out why it could have happened.

Nope. Irish Wolfhound.

I need two of them. Please share if you find any. Funny I was just thinking about asking GZ if there is such a thing.

Beach parking spot near me is popular for people staying the night with caravans / campers and the odd person tenting.

Well a few guys with a boat stayed the night and left behind one of those portable gas stove black plastic cases. I lifted the lid with my foot and the w**nkers left it behind fill of meat in plastic bags.

That would have to be about the worst thing you can leave behind. It is going to stink to high heaven in a few days! Show some respect. Up there with tossers that leave their pig skins hanging in the trees nearby.

The smell is the least of the problems. Meat in a plastic bag is almost guaranteed to be a huge vet bill for one of the many dogs that walk their owners on the beach.

I'm sorry that happened to you , that's utter BS on the kids part. Unfortunately there's a plague of bad parenting around and a lot of kids are never told 'no'.

Wife is a primary school teacher and sees this type of behaviour from kids all the time ... but I blame the parents cos they're supposed to be in control.

I hope the mother pays for the damage - any news on that front?

Insurance Company are chasing her, Police have her details.
The general buzz on Reddit and Facebook is that the boy is Autistic, she potentially is also and they are constantly doing this.
From the reports I have read, they would have racked up tens of thousands of dollars of costs, which will never be recovered.
He's done this on multiple buses, at shops, then also on the street in the CBD.

I put all of the blame on the parent/parents and the lack of control/awareness. If you know this is a repeated behaviour, remove the child from the triggers. Don't go out regularly on public transport or take him to environments where he'll do this. Maybe warn people who he engages with. Don't enable him. Get in between him and his victims. Don't hover in the background waiting to deal with the fallout.

If the wrong type of person were assaulted like this, I'd say the kid and his mother could spend some considerable time in hospital...especially so, having read some of the comments online about how people feel about them.

Anyway, long story short, I am out of pocket, waiting for another 2 weeks to get replacement glasses and the police have just confirmed this morning that they aren't doing anythimng about it.

The beach is at the end of our street. The signs clearly state a max of 6 vehicles at any one time. We counted 21 (yes, twenty one) the other day and that was just the obvious campers and caravans, I excluded the "self contained" vans to give the benefit of the doubt but there was at least another 8-10 of those.

You can imagine the state of the single toilet cubicle the following morning and the vast quantities of plastic waste from food packaging left scattered around the rubbish bin. It could've filled the bin 5/6 times over with loads of it being blown all over the beach.

Clean green NZ, yeah right.

How about a couple of elephants feet?

Quite the statement, a century or so ago...

Fill it with concrete, then you can also use it as a weight for a quick workout.
