turnin: I find it a little odd that when one voices concern about slippery slopes that might lead to issues with freedom and democracy it's just a few steps away from claims about tin foil hats and conspiracy theories. There is a hell of a lot of this lately, even John Key is calling people conspiracy theorists as though a Government could never be involved in a conspiracy and anyone who should suggest such a thing must therefore also believe in chemtrails and moon landing hoax's.
What's wrong with the world when those that have a differing opinion to each other can't have a reasonable debate without labelling the other party insane.

I think you'll find the tin foil hat approach is being applied due to some of the utter tripe that's being posted, as opposed to people not wanting to have a reasonable debate.

Mark: Personally I don't care ... whoopdeedoo the goverment is "spying" on us, makes such a huge difference in my daily life I've no idea how I will cope, perhaps I'll go hide under the bed ?

Come on get a life people and find something worthwhile to be upset about.

What okay i nearly spat my drink out..... Get a life dude they're going against your human rights to privacy. I hate the NZ Government already and this just makes me hate them even more... stand up for yourself be a patriot not a doormat. I'd like to attend one of these protests even though in a few years i will leave this country never to return ever again.

By looks of it i will be wearing a tinfoil hat to stop the radio waves spying on me. Next there will be cameras in my tv recording me while i fap and scratch myself ,with some ugly fat guy on the other end drooling over the surveillance monitor.

For the people who say meh it doesn't effect me ,that is a poor reason to give up your basic human right to privacy. Starving kids with aids in Ethiopia don't effect most on the planet but that still doesn't make it OK!!!!

Oh no im not trolling.... Im serious i wan't my privacy im a very private person this spying fiasco going on with the government is not ok with me. Im sorry you thought i was trolling because i have my own opinion on this matter. Mind you i only found out about this spying thing a few days ago ,i don't read the paper or watch news because it's full of rubbish but i thought i would join this discussion today lol

Well i don't understand it really cus i only found out about it like yesterday.... And yes im leaving in a few years for South America Medellin , Colombia and beautiful Caldas Colombia. But i wanted to participate in this thread and share my opinions. And i wanna fight for all of the geekzones rights :D
