Would you think this chair (http://nztech.co/1bQUpOE) would be better than the earlier one from Warehouse Stationery because it has mesh back and it looks like it is designed to help your back a bit?

Work has a bunch of fancy Formway "life" chairs which are great.

I've got a second hand Formway Key chair that's still in good nick -- a previous owner reupholstered it (or it's just lasted really well) and you can still get parts for them. They're relatively cheap 2nd hand (~$100), and comfortable. Mine's 13 years old.

I can second the Formway Life chair. I used to work for a company that had them and they are so good that I got one for myself and havent had any back issues since.

If you spend a lot of time sitting its well worth it. I think the price is about $900.

In all seriousness i would not buy a warehouse stationary one unless its sold on behalf of a company you can check out, to have a good chair you need good fabric, a mesh backing is good but can lack weight strength and if you are heavy like me (140kgs) then it collapses easy,

What are you doing in this chair? whats your weight and price range?

Give me these and i may be able to point you to the right direction

I'm guessing if you are spending more than 6 hours easy in this i would recommend a woolen upholstery as it breaths like mesh where vinyl can be more of a pain in the heat as it will not breath

I'm going to noob myself past judgement

No, in all seriousness will be using it to sit in front of a computer; basically in front of a desk.

Weight is 80kg

Preferred price range: $200-300 hopefully with a bit of extra haggling. Prefer max $200 though.

Well it is more of a "on / off" sitting - I.e no more than an hour per sitting. And it is for home and work.

I do prefer it to be equally as comfortable and equally as good looking.

I rate the Haworth Zody chair. It's fantastic and not too expensive.

As for the fabric side it will most likely be polypropylene, however this is usually better than your PVC or leather as it is cheap and helps with breathing also usually has a 5 year warranty on it as it does have 50,000+ rubs, if you want a wool then i would say you would be adding another $100 on with just a nicer looks and feel to it, wool will breath more than a poly would but has the same amount of rubs so not much difference on wear and tear...

By the sounds of it i would go with a high quality basic chair that looks good

$1500 for the Mirra. Yes, very expensive, but with my back and sitting all day (and recently all night) at my desk, its worth it to me. I image the Aeron would be around $2k.

Worth every penny. 10 year warranty, fully replaceable parts etc and mine still looks and works like new almost 15 years later on the other side of the planet from which it was bought!I think it cost me about GBP700 at the time, with the optional leather arms.
