The other option will be club venues - such as the Petone Workingmens, and sports clubrooms. That will depend on timing of course but worth a look if you want to stay in the Hutt... you need a venue with an on-premise licence that's also happy with BYO, which will eliminate bars and restaurants etc as that's where they'll make their $$$.

 

Not sure if you've checked the HCC council website but they have multiple venues available, besides the Dowse - where you can do your own catering etc. Not as nice as the Dowse or some of the other options mentioned but you get the benefit of being able to do your own catering, and they're relatively cheap (sorry, good value).

Haha saying cheap is ok...i dont mind. Yes i am looking at all the possible options in hutt and trying to get in touch with as many as i can.

I am unsure whether you have to use their catering and alcohol or not, but worth a look. I went to a company christmas party there one year and the location is amazing....

 

It might also be a bit out of town for you if you're looking for something central.

I really doubt Boomrock let you do external food and drink. The Indian temple / hall is probably the best suggestion I've heard so far.

 

Why do you need external catering and drinks? Because no-where meets your needs or to reduce costs? I guess if you have 300 guests and have to pay $150 a head that's an issue. Some places may work with you, especially if you're off peak.

Yes, i need indian food at the reception which no one can do apart from indian restaurants so i need outside catering

At the few Indian weddings I've been to a lot of the catering is done by family, and they tend to be in larger halls.

There is definitely a catering company in Auckland that does Indian weddings. No idea of the name sorry. And they probably wouldn't goto the Wellington region.
