Followed a vehicle today that would have had 5 bulbs for their brake lights - three in the hi-stop, one each in the tail lights.

Only one - a very dim one - working, in the Hi-stop light.

This is a pre-2000 Toyota Surf, so 6-monthly WOF. Surely no way that the other 4 bulbs have gone since the last WOF check? Who is handing out these Warrants?

Counted 20 vehicles doing the school run the other day, and 6 had at least 1 brake light out!

Not so much small but the gazillion political signs put up for the election. They should be restricted to say 10 per electorate. Just before Kennedygood bridge in Hutt City there are about 20 of the eyesores. No one else would be allowed to advertise like that.

Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.

When I pour milk from an expensive branded 2L container and it dribbles down the side of the bottle when I am done pouring.

..and rather ironic that the two parties who supposedly are most concerned about the environment both had to re-produce the whole lot after their leadership shuffles.

Stores with dumb policies - e.g. I went to Countdown last night with my 14 year old daughter to buy a few grocery items.  Remembered that I didn't have any beer and so picked up a six pack.  They wouldn't sell the beer to me because my daughter is under age.

How bizarre!

Not really. There's a sign at our local Countdown saying that if you are part of a group and buying alcohol then EVERYONE needs to show ID.

Rikkitic: I have also encountered this and I think it is incredibly stupid, arrogant and heavy-handed. Countdown are not the police. It is not their responsibility or right to control the behaviour of others. The policy is idiotic anyway, because kids are not as dumb as Countdown management, and if a group of under-18s really want an 18 year-old mate to buy grog for them, they will be smart enough to wait outside and let him go in on his own. This is just the result of some self-important management jerks deciding what is best for others. Don't shop at Countdown is the best response I can think of. They are a crappy overpriced underserviced ozzie company anyway.

I encountered a similar situation to this about 11 years ago with my wife at Johnsonville Mall Countdown. She was 26 at the time but didn't have ID so they refused me service. I asked them what they were on as she was my wife (both had wedding rings on) but they wouldn't budge. We had a cart full of shopping which we simply left in the checkout aisle while we walked off and did our shopping at Johnsonville Countdown across the road without any issues.

I have often wondered about these signs. They don't provide any information about the candidate or the candidate's views, often not even a slogan. They just mindlessly parrot 'vote for me' or 'tick box whatever'. Their purpose mainly just seems to be to burn the grimacing mug of the politician into people's brains. Are NZ voters really that stupid? I would never vote for anyone on the basis of these ridiculous posters.

Neighbourly. It's being a real PoS today. It's signed me out of my account after clicking on a link in an email from them. Their "forgotten your password" page doesn't work at all and the stupid thing is trying to create a new account for me.

I like using that site for its local focus, but by christ is it mickey mouse in a few areas like the above.

Don't be too hard on them. I'm sure it's done by unpaid volunteers. Maybe you could offer to help out with the webpage design.

Family restaurants that seem to offer good deals but small print means it is a bad deal.

eg, Gengys, had some deal where birthday kid gets their meal free. So, we think great, but when we go to pay they say the deal only applies if you have 3 paying adults.   How many kids have 3 parents?

Also, entertainment book has a special deal for gengys , 25% off, but for some reason we didn't qualify for the discount in the small print. Can't recall exactly why but the condition is not mentioned on the voucher.

Lonestar, my daughter had a voucher for a free meal, so she orders ribs then when we go to pay they say it does not apply to adult meals. This was not mentioned on the voucher. We would have ordered the kids meal in that case!!

Is it? I'm not aware of that. The people in my area certainly aren't being paid for it. Maybe Stuff provides some kind of sponsorship. I don't know.

Installing Office. For one of the most "popular" apps in the world, it's certainly up there for being one of the most frustrating to install. Sign into account, enter my phone number, enter a number that's been texted to me, get told I need to upgrade to OS 10.10 even though I'm on 10.12...

Why can't MS just offer a normal download like a normal person?
