What I consider dumb would be All Blacks win. I expect them to win. Tell me something I didn't know. Like ABs lose for example.

I think it's dumb, because it isn't actually news. It's just filler content. There is nothing "new" about why ships stay afloat. People have been building ships for thousands of years.

How old are you?

If you have ever read a traditional newspaper you will find plenty of sections that are not "news". An old science of How a cruise liner doesn't capsized is definitely readable, much more than news about missing pets, or misleading discoveries that never took place.

If you are old enough to go on a cruise or read the article and don't know why cruise ships don't sink then you should have paid far more attention at school.

I didn't learn why cruise liners don't Capsize at school (subtle difference from just sinking, though I do concede the latter will probably follow the former). I did learn about the hydrodynamic trimming surfaces they have while studying for a BE.

Big freeze continues with temperatures down to -10C

Waiouru, in the North Island's Central Plateau, was the coldest township overnight, dropping to -6.5C, followed by Arthurs Pass on -4.9C

Then:

One South Island ski field got down to -10C

Ok, so we headline the extreme. Stupid.

Who would have thought, that the moisture that used to be in your clothes that you are drying inside would go anywhere else apart from inside your house. Did they assume that people would otherwise think that that moisture instead teleports to another dimension?

I wish the media and us Cantabs would get over this. It was a small shake. I was upstairs, west ChCh, it was a small shake. Rattling ChCh? Knocking bottles over? The only relevant thing was thats its been ages since I felt one, and that was also very small.

Funny article. So often there are filler articles that just tell us all what we already know. Surprised it didn't suggest reducing moisture by skipping every third breath.
