Not too bothered by Xmas, so volunteered to work night of Xmas and Boxing day.
Small person too small to know what xmas means anyway.
Probably different next year.

Always pays to keep the roster person happy to maximise the chances of getting the days off later in the year when I really must have specific days off work.

I'm on the other end of that situation, as my wife is working Xmas and Boxing day 12 hour shifts, so I'll be on my onsome getting tea ready for when she gets home.  I've been looking for a large screen TV this week, so if I can get that sorted out before Xmas, I might treat myself to some Blu-ray movies.

Blimey that sounds sad.  I came here from the UK ten years ago, and family Christmases are one of the few things I miss.

My wife is getting the tech this year with new headphones for Birthday and kindle to repalce broken one for Christmas. I got something I have wanted for quite some time which is a table tennis table. Using it already as not something to be wraped and waited for. Kids are loving it.

Might just have to throw in a Chromecast for good measure. Again I think this would be for the wife as  it looks like something that would suit her needs.

UK Christmas much better, cold dark lots food but prefer NZ New year's eve. Bonfires in the beach, stating up all night etc.

Spending the night in jail for lighting a fire on the beach.

Cloud spending continues to surge globally, but most organisations haven’t made the changes necessary to maximise the value and cost-efficiency benefits of their cloud investments. Download the whitepaper From Overspend to Advantage now.

Agreed. We have just bought a new BBQ for the summer hols but it just isn't the same.

Next year we are heading north - I have suggested hiring a chalet in the French Alps or something to guarantee snow!

We often have a mid-winter Xmas dinner in June if we are in NZ.
