Endeavour, The early days of a young Endeavour Morse, whose experiences as a detective constable with the Oxford City Police will ultimately shape his future.

set in the 60's and the series has really got the period right, right down to how smoking was a large part of society . 4 series so far and the episodes are 90 minute long . Enjoying them.

We have been watching  this as well - never really watched Morse much when it screened.

But this is very good in its own right.

Also enjoying the latest series of Silent Witness - Amazingly its on its 20th series - very good plot lines and acting - each story is 2 x 1hr episodes.

Completely agree with the comments about Black Mirror.  It is easily one of the best anthology sci-fi series I've ever seen,  But it's a hard watch, in the sense that it usually takes me a few weeks to recover from the brutality of the story before I can watch another.  I've only watched 4 episodes as a result, and have to mentally gird myself before I can sit down to watch the next one.

I've just finished watching Westworld.  A lot of people hyped it as the next "Game of Thrones", but I think that's overselling it.  It was good fun, but I wouldn't describe it as compelling viewing in the same way that I found with GoT.  When we watched the first season of that show (long after it first aired), I went on a hunt to find season 2.  Having seen the final of Westworld, I'm happy to wait however long for the next season.

It has some interesting characters, especially ones that I didn't pick as being that important from the start (e.g. Maeve), and I didn't spot the twist with the Man in Black.  What I found most interesting is the realisation (for me) that Westworld (the original movie, presumably) was the basis for the Red Dwarf episode Waxworld (S04E06).

Fargo season 1. 8/10

I don't know why I haven't watched this before as I have always liked the movie.

Excellent cast and some unexpected twists. Billy Bob Thornton very sinister, similar to the nail shooting baddy in No Country For Old Men.

Binge watched the last half of Westworld (ep 6 through 10).  Thought the last half was very good and some good twists and reveals that I had not expected which is always nice.  Not too sure how much room they've left for a season two maybe a Umbrella Corps style incursion to find out what the heck went on....

We had an Australia Day long weekend last week (factory was shut Friday too so 4 day weekend).

I'd never seen Brooklyn 99 and the Mrs was sick on the first day... 56 episodes later. tongue-out

And last night we started "Santa Clarita Diet".

Quite funny and very gory.

Watching the last episode now. Stupid binge-watching.

We have been watching a Danish series 'Dicte' on Netflix Canada. Great show even though subtitles are needed. Cop/journalist genre.

I recently watched 'Oppenheimer' on YouTube. It's a seven part mini series on the development of the atomic bomb, released in 1980. It's very well made and acted.

After enjoying Tinker, Tailor, Soldier Spy (the TV series, not the recent film) about 8 months ago, I have just moved on to Smiley's People. Up to Episode 4. So far I am really enjoying it, and even feeling a tad nostalgic for the Cold War.....

Well worth a look if you like the slower paced more cerebral type of spy thriller.

I watched all of that over the weekend, and I'm still not sure whether I liked it or not.

Just watched all 3 series of Shetland.

Or as we call it in our house, McWallander....!

Not bad although the BBC jumped the shark in ticking off their Diversity Action List when making this one and it gets a bit tedious watching them do it so obviously.
