I think the judge must have left a couple of zeroes off the fine by mistake.
Forestry firm to pay $355,000 over failure that led to flood damage (1news.co.nz)
Because the lid is not covered, a warden did not issue a ticket! (Christchurch)

Bung: "In 2013, Ernslaw got resource consent from the Gisborne District Council to plant a forestry block near Tolaga Bay.
But it did not follow the consent conditions - as the council found out after the huge 2018 storm."
Why impose consent conditions and then leave them to do what they liked for 5 years?
Mates at the council?
While viewing ABC News, I stumbled across an item that intrigued me about a Ukrainian war song about a Turkish drone that is making life difficult for the Russians. The drone is called the Bayraktar TB2 and the song, which pokes great fun at the Russians and generally makes their war effort look ridiculous, is named after it. So far so good.
I was interested. I clicked the YouTube link to see the video. It was no longer there. It had been removed for 'violating YouTube's terms of service'. No further information or explanation. Now even more intrigued, I went looking for it. Every link I could find went back to YouTube. Even the Wayback machine had it blocked. The only information I could find at all was a passing UK magazine reference that it had been 'taken down'. Again, no reason why.
Since Google kept sending me down dead ends, I decided to try DuckDuckGo. Immediately a link appeared to a site with the video: https://www.funker530.com/video/the-bayraktar-theme-song-is-an-absolute-bop/
The lyrics probably lose some sharpness in translation but the intention is clear. Along with many images that have been seen on the news of exploded tanks set to an upbeat ditty, they make bitingly clear what the Ukrainians think of Russian military prowess. The video is worth a look. I just wonder why Google seems so eager to shut it down. Is it a conspiracy?

It's amazing how "change blind" humans can be.
We use a thing called GTFS, or Google Transit Feed Specification. I find myself looking at the spec relatively often, and despite that it took me more than a decade to notice that it's now called the General Transit Feed Specification... and even that was only because someone else pointed it out to me!

Did it change or were you mistaken from day one?

I realised today that in March it will be 4 years since I left NZ.
Since we used to travel often - at least once and usually twice a year, I am left wondering why I have not got a big pile of money somewhere that I was unable to spend travelling.

I've used a thing called GTFO:

It changed. The change was apparently proposed in 2009 but I'm not sure when it actually took effect (the spec has a change log but this particular change isn't listed...)
Someone keying my car on the side of the road on the street behind my office in what I suspect was broad daylight. Have to check with the other businesses in the area to see if anyone else was affected as there's a few dealerships who park cars there, and mine is far from the flashiest or most interesting around.
Goodbye no claims bonus. This is going to hurt.
"It wasn't real money so I'm not paying it back"
Sometimes I use big words I don't always fully understand in an effort to make myself sound more photosynthesis.
Glad I double checked before I lodged my claim. It's both sides, glass as well.

Ah dude, I am so sorry. That is crap. We had this happen last year, they went right down the length of her car, really deep. We have lifetime no claims, which is nice, but it still cost us $650 in excess. It really stung as she was doing community covid vaccinations in her 'spare' time at the time.
Just mindless pointless stupidity.
