Paypal, with a US Address, write you shop address in newegg, and when you go to pay for it using paypal, change the billing address (on the paypal page) to the US address, it will allow you to change country (this is the page that you click confirm on paypal, before it takes you back to the newegg).

I also use a NZ Debit card (if this makes any difference, it just a normal visa debit card).

Also, use a VPN, as I know many check the IP address. Cheapest way to get a VPN (that is trustworthy) is to hire a VPS for a year, i.e. this one: https://portal.catalysthost.com/cart.php?a=confproduct&i=0 (check out lowendbox.com for more deals like this from other providers), 1TB Bandwidth a month for 1.42 USD a month. Install openvpn onto the VPS and your computer at home, and you have a fully functional US VPN full speed.

Never log onto the newegg (or other US online computer shop) when using your NZ ip.

Thats all I can think of anyway...

I recently ordered 'geeky' computer type stuff from Amazon and other USA stores for my grandson (11). This was how he wanted to spend his Xmas present money (most of us gave him cash rather than gifts). Before placing the various orders we visited the YOU Shop website and read there that a 20% discount applies where you pay for multiple items together, albeit that you pay full price for the first item and the discount applies to the other items. Once we had placed the various orders and started getting notifications from YOU shop that the items had arrived at the YOU shop warehouse and we needed to pay for the parcels, I began to calculate how much the shipping is on each item and then noticed that the 20% discount had changed to a flat rate of $6 per parcel. I have written to YOU Shop N.Z. about this and complained about their sudden change in policy but they're denying that they have ever offered a 20% discount (and changed to a flat rate of $6 per parcel). Anyone else encountered the 20% discount offered by YOU Shop or are my grandson and I imaging what we both read at the YOU Shop website? (PS this was around Christmas 2013).

I placed some orders just after Christmas, and it was a flat rate of $6 when I looked then... If you use this discount code JanSales2014 - thats 10% + the $6 per parcel, that would be a reasonable discount. I don't remember it being 20%

Definitely could use something bigger than 10%

Ordered a pair of merrell shoes (don't ship NZ possibly due to local distributors), fulfilled by Amazon. Apparently Amazon decided to put it in a huge box, and youshop quoted shipping weight 1 KG, volumetric weight nearly 4 KG, final shipping cost for 1 pair of size 9 shoes is over $50... looks a rip off compare to my other orders arrived at NZ in a shorter time frame and free global saver shipping from amazon.

Trying to get a reassess but don't think they'd bother to change the packaging.

I bought a pair of Bostonian, a pair of ASICS and a couple of shoes for wife. All shipped by Amazon to NZ for free as part of their current promotion ;)

I did want some Timberland and Merrel but if I can't get the shipping free might go to the other equivalent quality brands.

There was a 20% discount for UK shipping only up to around the 10/01/14, perhaps that is what you were thinking of?

+1 was probably this. There isn't separate sites for UK and US Youshop, it is both the same site just with 2 separate physical addresses given.

request a reassessment if you don't need it in a hurry. there is online chat.

mine came back and the dimensions reduced mysteriously, my shipping bill reduced by 1/5 with the new measurement. that does make me wonder how accurate was their assessment...

however, I cannot guarantee if a reassessment won't end up with a more expensive bill...

Feeling a bit dodgy there.

Got the package the other day, the reassessed dimension is still 6 cm longer on width, 2 cm longer on length, only accurate on height. It resulted nearly 1/3 more non existent volume, and wiped out the 10% discount.

The original package is a thin plastic bag on a shoe box. the package is labelled "opened by US warehouse", they may or may not have removed some additional padding in there, but I cannot explain why the measurement was original quoted 45*30*13 cm, then reduced to 37*29*13 cm, and the actual package being delivered only measured 35*23*13 cm (measured to the next full cm).

I'll probably stick with AmazonGlobal eligible products for now... can't beat free shipping.
