Kthulhu42: I talked about my parcel and also commended their excellent customer service on Twitter, and they got in touch with me and gave me a coupon. I'm really impressed to be honest, a lot of companies would shrug and go "Not our problem" but youshop was really helpful and understanding.

Yeah, they have been really helpful to me.

Contacted them regarding my skate issue and they gave me a good code to help with the new ones the skate company are sending me as a replacement.

I am also impressed. Ordered with Amazon with 2 day shipping on 12th, it's just cleared customs about 20 minutes ago, I suspect delivery tomorrow, which would make it 9 days from order to delivery. 2 weekend days, and 2 of those days were nothing to do with Youshop!

Has anyone here used a coupon with multiple parcels? Does it only cover one parcel or multiple? And do you still get the multiple parcel discount?

I'm waiting for a parcel that hasn't shipped yet and I'm worrying because it might not show up within the time frame they will keep my first parcel.

Just to answer your question, yes discount will be applied to all parcels, and multiple parcel discount will also be included.

Yeah i was in the same situation and youshop sent me an email a few days ago saying "Your parcel will be held in at our YouShop USA warehouse for the next 15 days."
I was like dammit as was waiting for a parcel that just shipped. Luckily its gotten there in a few days.

With regards to multi parcel & discount here's how it would look

Thank you so much, you lovely person.

I've got a parcel coming from Amazon that should hopefully arrive at the warehouse soon. I'm really excited!

After reading the youshop website, I bought some biscuits and some shoes and had them sent through.   Both were free shipping from Amazon in the US.   They were sent separately from Amazon, and youshop didn't seem to care that the biscuits were labeled as food, yet were against their terms and conditions.

The biscuit shipping was extortionately higher than expected, so I took the hit and had them disposed of.  I had expected them to be denied and disposed of anyway, as I had chosen to them send them through youshop before finding a different page with a different list of allowed goods.  The shoes were repacked and shipped, and they still came out more than it would have cost to have them shipped directly from Amazon.

What I didn't get a clear picture of when choosing to send it through, was that the shipping cost from youshop was volume based.

I'm sure there's some things you can send through, and come out on top, but it seems like it requires some thinking ahead.

I don't think YouShop is really there as a way of getting stuff to NZ that can be sent directly - it is there to get stuff to NZ that sellers in the US will not ship to NZ.

For example - Levis Jeans - can be horrendously expensive here, can be cheap as there. They will not ship them to NZ (from Amazon anyway), but $30-$40 shipping from Youshop, even on a single pair of 501s still lands them here about $40 cheaper than buying here.

volume "weight" takes precedence over actual weight

shipping smart phone, ssd etc is not bad

shipping shoes, pillows etc can be really bad

Looking at the youshop pricing page, I see this is pretty obvious.  They even have a calculator which you can enter the different measures and get an approximate price I see.  I can't have read down past the "international postage" section at the top, which just states weight based.

A correction to what I said

Shipping charge is based on volume and weight, whichever is more costly

All I can say is their volume based formula is quite costly.

I know that a couple of parcels arrived for me at the warehouse yesterday but they haven't appeared yet. Waiting to find out the price..

It's a bit nerve wracking to be honest, because although I'm getting things I can't get delivered here, Amazon does not have the best track record when it comes to shipping things in a cost efficient way. I know I've gotten a couple parcels that had half a box of air in them. I did note on my order that I wanted them to pack it as efficiently as possible.

Even if shipping comes to $50 though (which would be a box double the size of what I ordered) it will still be cheaper than getting it anywhere else.

I'm getting something shipped in a big box (36" x 9" x 9") and I really don't want them to repack it, but apparently there's nothing I can do about it but cross my fingers and hope they decide not to! :(

Why not - if they repack it, they will save you money?
