If you catch on fire is it still best to just stop, drop and roll or has something better been developed?

The only one time I caught fire, I was kneeling beside the camp cooker on the DOC hut steps when my mate pointed out that my cargo pants pocket was alight. Before I had time to tweet, croon to the tune of a Springsteen, snap a selfie, compose a letter, stop, drop, or roll. I had slapped the fire out with an open palm, the only remaining evidence of the fiasco being a 20mm dia hole in my trou.

TL; DR yes - there are alternatives to stop drop and roll.
