I opened a lotto account a couple weeks ago in order to see the must win results. Since then I have been barraged with emails pushing me to gamble more. I unsubscribed but that didn't make any difference. Yesterday I received an email screaming that 'this Saturday's draw is a special one' and today I was urged to 'give it a go, Rikki'.

What happened to responsible gambling? I find this kind of thing excessive and unacceptable from an organisation that is supposed to be about charity and responsible behaviour. How can this possibly be justified with the very real problems of gambling addiction that receive so much publicity?

I just unsubscribed again. It will be interesting to see how long it lasts this time. But unsolicited emails urging people to 'give it a go' hardly strike me as a responsible attitude in the face of the very real problem of gambling addiction.

For the record, I only ever buy lotto tickets for must win draws. What the hell? It improves the odds slightly. But this kind of crap I do not value or appreciate. There is a big difference between having a flutter and being pushed into compulsive gambling. I think this is disgusting.

Edit: I forgot to mention that all this joy is coming from an outfit called http://engage.ubiquity.co.nz/. Is this a new 'let's push them into debt' organisation? I don't remember them from the last time I visited lotto. Whoever they are, they have no business here. Lotto is supposed to be fun and charitable. This feels more like Las Vegas. No doubt this is an America operation.
