PaknSave in Paraparaumu has recently stopped listing ingredients for in-house baked products (eg, breads, cakes etc). The section on the label that used to list the ingredients has been replaced with the statement "See department for ingredients."

My partner bought some Bap buns today and decided to test out the new label. After about 10 minutes waiting as an employee looked through a file, they had to admit they couldn't advise what ingredients are in the baps.

There is plenty of room on the label listing ingredients, so is this laziness or deceptiveness behaviour from PaknSave?

Interesting.

Looks like it doesn't need a list of ingredients

Foods that don't require any label at all include

food made and packaged where it is sold, or food packaged in front of you
