Hi,

I hate psychometric tests, the company has sent me a link to some practice test - BUT they don't provide the answers to the practice tests so I don't know if I'm on the right track. Very frustrating.

1)     1 ; 10         7 ; 58            8 ; ?

Suggested answers:    73 / 80 / 65 / 71 / 67

I can't see a pattern here?

2)     5 ; 1 ; 2          13 ; 4 ; ?

Suggested answers: 6 / 3 / 2 / 5 / 9

All I can see is maybe a 5, but that seems too simple?

I'd appreciate any help - if they provided answers I'm sure I could figure it out, but without answers and finding it hard, I'm not sure of anything.

How about 73 for no.1:

(1x1) + 9 = 10

(7x7) + 9 = 58

(8x8) + 9 = 73

Still looking at No. 2

For the first one, the square of the first number plus 9 works. But it’s pretty difficult to figure out a pattern with so few in the series.

and the second one is the square root of subtracting the second number from the first (3).

And 3 for No. 2?

Deltas are:

-4, +1

-8, +2?

So No.2 is : 5;1;2, 13;4;3
