PBTech gives a two year warranty on Xiaomi phones. Does anyone know if this transfers to a new owner if the device is sold, or does it only apply to the first owner? Their warranty doesn't mention this situation.

Considering selling my three week old Xiaomi 9T, if I can get a decent price.

Also interested in the general case. What happens if someone buys a house with A 3 month old fridge that fails, and they have the receipt.

It does yes, at least in my experience:

I've sold one to another human on Facebook and they needed to claim warranty and managed to lose the receipt I gave them, PBTech found the mobile on their system using the serial number and knew I had bought it, they then gave me a call to confirm that the new human was now the owner and then provided warranty to the human.

Manufacturer is supposed to help you simply based off the serial number IMO, if it is still within warranty, otherwise claim CGA on it.
