Just wanted to get others opinions on how long you would expect dining chairs to last?

We purchased the ones pictured below in October 2019, from Farmers. They still sell the same style with slightly different colour options as per - https://www.farmers.co.nz/home/dining-furniture/chairs/luca-nova-dining-chair-brandy-6596434 and you can see they're not the cheapest, but more middle of the road for dining chair prices.

Over the last ~6 months most of them have started developing spots around the back where the material layers are coming away. The interesting thing is it's happening on a mix of the chairs with both the ones we use regularly and those we don't actually use as often. I've also been watching how they are moved around, and it's obviously a more high-wear area, but we actually pull them out from the centre more than the sides.

So finally an update.

After contacting farmers via their phone number and then emailing through photos, I was contacted by the local store manager who at first sounded a bit hesitant and asked to give me a call back. Later that day I got a call from the manager saying that the company acknowledged that the chairs should have lasted longer and would we prefer a replacement or refund. They had another style of chair that my SO liked so an order was placed and were offered at their same pricing even though these technically had a small increase in value ~$50 in total due to the original sale pricing of the chairs and current sale pricing etc... These arrived a week later and the delivery guy also collected the old chairs.

One pain point was the bolts were missing on a single chair and one line of stitching on the same chair, it looks to have been a display model, but the store manager has already organised for a replacement to be dispatched.

Overall great service from the local store with good contact and updates directly from the store manager.
