Random topic I know, but surely I can't be the only one with this problem! 

My home has somewhat thick carpet, which makes it hard to use office chairs. I bought a plastic mat from PB Tech about a year ago and that worked reasonably well, but it's cracked now...

Before I buy another plastic mat - has anyone had success with using a rug or carpet mat? Or should I look at rubber mats?
