Hey all,

I’m filling out the rates rebate form and noticed it doesn’t ask for bank details. Do they just credit it straight to your rates account, or do they somehow pay it into your bank automatically?

Anyone recently got theirs and can share how it worked?

Nope.

it just offsets the next instalment.

Do you pay in full for the year or just the quarter?

  • you could ask your local authority to look at a direct credit if you did pay the full year.

Ah, thanks for clarifying. I actually pay my rates in instalments throughout the year, not the full year upfront. The reason I’m asking is I’m a bit short on money right now, so I’d really like the rebate paid straight into my bank account if that’s possible, rather than just offsetting the next instalment. I will see if I have time to go to their office to ask sometime this week.

You can ask them to credit you your rates balance if its in the positive, they can only say no..
