Anyone tried this new place? Pizza any good?  Compared to Hell?

They must have expanded here from Oz. There were a few Crust Pizza's in Melbourne. Good reputation too.

They're here in Hamilton, I had some on the weekend. Good pizza, prices at the gourmet end of the market. A bit like Hell without the theme and obnoxious marketers.

Heaven pizza is a good alternative, less of the PUT EVERYTHING ON IT style of the usual options and uses a "woodfired" oven. They've got a shop in Waikanae (I think) and here in Wellington. Not sure if they're elsewhere around the country. Pretty tasty pizza though, worth checking out if you come across one.

I like Hell pizza's, but I won't to buy them any more as I've gotten a bit sick of their "we're alternative" attitude. They're a pizza company. Plus the prices have started getting a bit out-of-hand.

I have never like hell pizza's pizzas, I don't know what people see in them to be honest, I just don't like the taste of them. I liked some of their advertising though, especially that 'greed' billboard they put outside someones mansion.

I like Sal's. Simple toppings but taste great.

me too.  much more like the pizza you get in italy and new york.  fewer toppings, but much much more effort into flavouring the sauce

Much better than Hell but more expensive.
Gourmet toppings etc.

Taste good though.

I dont like that with sals you only have the option of reheated slices unless you want an absurldy large thing at a large price.

Reheated sals is nothing like a fresh one.

franchise pizza chains . . . meh

most people could make a better pizza at home without too much effort.

A good pizza begins with its sauce. Fanchises pile loads of crap on top of their pizzas to disguise the fact that their sauce tastes like ketchup.

I tried making pizza at home after buying some doh. Never again, total waste of time and cost way more than a bought one once you factored in all the stuffing around and wasted ingredients.

+1, you can make far better pizzas at home, and you can buy at a pizza chain. and at least you know what is in them.

That was your first mistake right there.
It is very easy to make - just a basic white bread recipe with olive oil added.
