Hello, I'm a reporting/data analyst with an MBA in Finance who's been finding it terribly hard to find work here. I moved here a year ago, and I've only done temp work as a Data Analyst for about a month. Any suggestions on how to go about it or if I should do any courses in NZ?

There seems to be a fair number of reporting related positions available on Seek etc:

http://www.seek.co.nz/JobSearch?SearchFrom=quickupper&SearchType=search+again&Keywords=reporting&industry=6281&nation=3001

If you have desirable experience which can be formalised a bit with a certification of some kind that might not be a bad thing. Are you finding your experience is in packages not used in NZ or the expectations of the position are a bit different?

Personally I have never worked with a reporting professional and it is not something I know a lot about professionally.

Thank you for the link gzt. I think it's a bit of both, I've worked with packages not used in NZ + different job descriptions. I've been actively looking on Seek etc, but no luck so far! Just have to give it a bit of time I guess. Now looking to do some sort of certification, seems like the best option!
stevenz, I'm based in Wellington.

Thank you for your replies!
