Yes. But contains the word 'nuclear' so will never achieve widespread use. People would rather sit in their darkened homes on a windless evening watching windmills not turn :P

It was amazing the progress that was being made on nuclear in the 50s and 60s. The same way that we are now adapting the rocket plans from that era as well for Space X and co.
It looks like a good technology, so does the other Thorium reactor design being rolled out in China now aswell.
Unikely to get a license for importing nuclear waste into New Zealand for this reactor though!
Great idea, but still many practical problems to overcome. As far as NZ goes importing nuclear waste would not be popular. Even though Japan and France exchange waste through the Tasman sea for reprocessing already. If we really wanted to do that kind of thing it is better and safer to import virgin uranium. Our geology does not inspire confidence either. Better to wait until the technology has matured.
