Hey everyone.

Just a bit of background; I am a third year Information Science student at Victoria in Wellington, looking to graduate at the end of next year (2008) with a second BCA major in Marketing and some print media and creative writing certificates as well.

I am currently working on several projects, primarily public sector stuff during the day which I can't talk about too much, and also on a commercial web project that I have started with a friend and which is also under wraps at the moment...

I am looking for punters (other Vic students would be awesome) who might be interested in doing a not-for-profit project as a means of bumping up their CV while also getting an injection of feel-good karma. The catalyst for me has been the amount of job listings I read about in the US where having started a not-for-profit organisation is a prerequisite, or is at least preferred. In saying that I also think it would be cool to apply IS and project skills to something other than increasing corporate productivity....

At this stage I would just like to initiate a conversation on the topic, to see what kinds of things could be done. If I get any reply's I will set up a private forum on my domain to get some more discussion flowing.

Evan.

Hey, thanks for the reply. Since posting I have had several responses and as a result have become involved in a marketing/pr position for a new not-for-profit startup. Though to any others looking for not-for-profit experience your post should be helpful.

Cheers,
Evan
