This is sort of a name and shame thread where you can post screenshots of apps/websites that require excessive permissions.

Starting with.... Was going to comment on a geekzone blog (DISQUS), logging in via Twitter... Looked at permissions DISQUS wants (update my profile?, post tweets?) NO THANKS!

Yeah - not as bad as some apps

e.g. Flashlight App on Android - read contacts, make calls, access data, read sms etc. etc. etc.

Hmm, no thanks.

I hope people actually read those screens and don't just click accept like on eulas.

Yes, I always wonder why those. You can see a worse trend in mobile apps, with apps asking for access to your address book when all you want to do is resize a photo...

Regarding Disqus. It asks for permissions so that you can find people to follow and if you click the share button it can post on your behalf. I agree the "update profile" is a bit too much though.
