Wow, been here since october 2011 so 500 might not seem impressive. (And compared to the super posters on here its not at all).

But I am sure a chart of my posts since 2011 would look interesting. Think most of my posts has happened since april 2013.

Thank you Freitasm for a great forum! I have said it before but it bears repeating because it is a feat to have such a vibrant forum with (mostly) great discussions.

Looking forward to the next 500 posts :)

50% of JohnR posts consist of 2 words or less ;-)

Freitasm posts don't count. It is his job (now part time job) to post in this forum.

Thanks for your contribution! Congrats for the 500 posts.

Congrats on your first 500. Are you enjoying living in Hawkes Bay?

DarthKermit, I'm enjoying Hawkes Bay and Napier a lot.

Not that I have lived for any extended amount of time anywhere else in New Zealand, virtually zero rush hour (coming from a seriously clogged city), and a good selection of shops and restaurants - whats not to like?! :)

Indeed. I enjoy visiting and staying in Napier. It's only 2 hours drive from where I live.

Do you like the Art Deco there?

The other 9 people who live there, lack of tarsealed roads, electricity only 2 days a month, broadband provided courtesy of carrier pidgeon and the fact everyone is related ? ... :)

networkn, not sure where you have been. But I have not had a power problem since I got here in september 2013. Broadband? VDSL 40/10 where I live and if I wasn't living in an apartment complex I would probably already have fiber.

The population is 60000 so hardly the size of Auckland. Given, on the grand scale of things Auckland is a tiny village too... (about the size of Oslo where I am from).

Hardly seen any roads with no tarseal (other than some roadworks on the way down to Wellington - but far out of Hawkes Bay).

The related part I don't know about and not really my concern, I have married someone that was born in Great Britain and moved to NZ when she was 4 ;)

Love the area. The Art Deco is a nice touch too. National Aquarium is lovely, love the good food around here, and the great weather. (Not had the best february so far, but seems like most of New Zealand has been raining away lately).

This year I am having two summers in a row so thats a plus too. Fairly affordable to live here, prices has not sky rocketed like the rest of NZ (With Auckland on top I believe).

2 hours drive covers a lot. Where are you located?

Love that its only 1 hour by plane each way to Auckland and Wellington.

Over the hills and to the South in Palmerston North.
