Hi Folks,
  Its that time of the decade where England get to get knocked out of the World Cup by Germany again.   So I thought I would see who people think may actually win.


Out of interest, I have used the Tournament Schedule Poster from the TAB website which is a downloadable PDF to work out who plays who.


Being English - my guess is that if England come top of their group, they will likely play Spain in Quarter Final 3. If they come second in their group, then they will likely play Germany in Semi Final 1 (so they get a bit further).  If this is the case, then tradition holds that they will lose 2 - nil.

So I am thinking the final will be Germany/Spain  (or at a very very remote chance England/Spain), with an not so remote chance Brazil could make the final against Spain.

The two teams that I would think likely of causing an upset are Switzerland and France, there is a possibility that if either of them make the second round that they could get though to the quarter final (I think they would need to beat Argentina).  Also Portugal I think are likely to get through to the quarter finals in which case they could end up playing England or Spain for a place in the finals.

So that's my tuppence worth of opinion which I shall endeavour to change several times between now and the final.
