So how many RC geeks are there on Geekzone?

I've done cars, I fly planes regularly, and I've just recently got into helicopters.  Each step is like going back to being a complete learner again.  I thought helis would be simple after flying fast, aerobatic planes, but no!  Suddenly the left stick isn't just an optional extra for landing and some particular aerobatic tricks... on a heli the throttle/rudder stick is a full-time occupation in itself. :o

One day I'll get into a stable hover.... one day.

Back in the day I did a few large cars - biggest was about a meter long with a 49cc chainsaw engine. Very unwieldy beast, but man it could go. All home built.

Would love a heli!!

Anyone got a gas car or heli + gear to trade for geek gear?

Go to miracle-mart.com Tony!

You can get a Lama V4 coaxial helicopter for US$80. You can probably get it shipped for NZ$130ish all up given the current dollar. They have excellent service, I've bought a Lama and also a Esky HoneyBee King 2 from them. The King 2 is a dangerous heli :)

The Lama is awesome. It's almost as easy to use as a RC car, and you can happily fly it around your lounge. I've reviewed it over on my blog.

2 Wings?  Slope gliders or powered wings?  I love a bit of slope combat :)

i love radio control but never really got into it in a huge way. I have a couple of toy cars and one of those silly mini indoor helicopters and made some weed eaters into boats before.

I've decided not to buy that flash rf scanner as it will now be of limited use in this day of digital.
I'd mapped the the flight controls of grand theft auto to that of proper pitch and yaw and when i played with a friends radio control simulator i only managed to crash when landing it.

Looks like i an buying something else. :-)
Hmmm, chopper or plane?

If you've got $100 to spend, get a Lama.  Buckets of fun!
