Hey Team,

I've recently bought my first home and am looking for a proper office/gaming chair for my desk.  I'm after suggestions from you on good models/retailers so if you have any please let me know.

Requirements: I generally spend 1-2 hours per night at my computer, so it needs to be comfortable for that length or longer.  In saying that I also spend most of my day at a desk, so I need something that will look after my posture as well. Price I can flex on for the right chair, but would like to spend under 1000 if possible.

Let me know what you think.

Cheers!
Stuart

I got some Leather BMW car seats if you want to buy one? A mate has some Subaru WRX bucket seats too. Good for a project.

I have a Mirra chair, the best chair I have ever owned.

Haworth Zody has always been a favourite of mine.  Bit outside the budget though probably.

If you're in Welly or Auckland check out Zenith Interiors, they have a good selection.

How long can you sit on it for? Don't you get a sore back?

My Mrs wont let me replace the 2 seater in the lounge with 2 E32 heated leather seats. They'd make the perfect recliner :(

A mate has a recaro racing bucket seat as his computer chair.

You will get abs. My experience, use a variety of seats and seating positions. No matter what it is your body will get used to it, and then it is time to change. Advantages and disadvantages to all of them. But SB is one of my favorite.

I can sit on it for an hour at a time.
What i found was that i would start bouncing very lightly on it - subconsciously

I ended up starting to loose a little bit of weight.

It didnt last long though, my mcdonalds diet wouldnt allow the weight loss to continue.

Though the swiss ball could now be described as a mcdonalds enabler.

Anyhow, i sit for an hour, get up for a few minutes, and then sit back down again.

These chairs look like the ones that Warehouse Stationery sell - Jasper J chairs for a lot less.

Thanks team, I'll take a look around the office suppliers in Wellington for a chair. The Mirra looked nice, and in previous jobs I've had a Formway Life which I really liked. I'm not too fussed on looks, more about the comfort.

Had a workmate that used a swiss ball. It was hilarious when it burst on him!
