I think this question has been asked so many times and yet still open for further discussion and debat...

So who shot first?

Greedo or Han Solo?

In origin theatrical version, Han Solo was spotted to shot first. However later in Special Edition re-release, Greedo was said he's got the first shot. Later in the DVD Special Edition box set, both characters were said they had a precise timing of shooting at each other at the same time...

What's your view?

I feel there was a chicken in the corner that started it all.

Chewbacca makes certain that Han Solo's weaponry have the latest firmware.
That is why Greedo's shot was inaccurate and perhaps a tad slower.

Frankly I feel sorry for Greedo, I mean he waited all that time for for Service Pack 2 to become available for his blaster, and then when he goes and installs it? Turns out its beta testing wasn't so hot, and when he tried to fire first Han's iBlaster took advantage of a critical security vulnerability in Greedo's gun, thereby preventing it from firing, and automatically firing Han's gun, which was trained on Greedo at the time. Turns out the future isn't so different after all...

And don't even get me started on that time when Darth Vader couldn't pair the bluetooth speakers in his helmet with the mp3 player newly installed in his lightsaber because the Empire skimped on which bluestooth stack they implemented...turns out that the lack of faith of quite a few staffers on the Empires I.S team was disturbing...

I'm not so sure about your SP2 security vulnerability theory...

On the day, I think Chewie just said to Han, "I think you should use this blaster today" (in his native Wookiee, of course.) As it turned out, he made a good call.
