there seems to be a lot of Trademe topics that end up in the "Off Topic" Forum. has it ever been suggested a Forum for say Online Business or just trademe? Anyone who has been on the TM's community forum would know what a disater and unusable place that is. Is there a place out there already for online new zealand business? If so please let me know cause i can't find it!

I often hac=ve some specific topics to discuss as a for instance

When you bid on auction Do you know , care, believe , fully understand that you are entering int a legally binding contract?
Or
Do you treat it like if I don't like it I can always renege What are they going to do!

Now that sort of question whilst very relevant to online business ....not very geeky

So setup a separate forum here?

setup a separate forum somewhere else?

there already is one its here >

Who gives a **** about TM?

It's not, IMV, the best example of on line auctioneering in the world.

It's expensive and does not add much value to the process.

I do think it throws up a lot of questions so a forum for it might be useful.

Where should it go? geekzone if it is more general. There is already a forum on Trade Me if it is about that specific site.

I'd like an "online trading" or a broader "online business" forum. There are a lot of posts that fall under either.

Trademe is an example of the mass market putting up with an abortion of a trading site just because it is the biggest.

Trademe can get away with offering the craphouse experiance they do, with the resulting unhappy traders on both sides because they are the biggest and have the market share. There is not really a lot of other local ecommerce other than a few big retailers with equally substandard (but in different ways) sites.

To dedicate a forum to the total cluster**** that is NZ ecommerce would just be allowing for a constant bitchfest of people who find the processes tedious and frustrating.

I do not support the idea of that, if we can keep trademes problems on trademe while the rest of us are happily going off overseas to retailers and marketplaces that get it, then that is all for the better IMO.

No subforum for TradeMe here.

The level of sheer stupid on their forums there need to be left there.  Let's not bring down Geekzone by encouraging it to come across here.

The forum that is on trademe is there because TM beleives and understands that they "should" have one there. It would certainly keep online questions etc down to TM. I agree that the level of comments and conversations is .......terrible? yes that the word. The forum is set up to be difficult to use, an I believe you can't put anything up that is offensive to TM Iie competitors information . Fair enough they own the monopoly.
I would like to see a separate controlled  (just like geekzone) forum for online business, specifically. Trying to discuss how best to sell a product and make as much money as possible , the best way to advertise to get people to buy or take up such product, is something that shouldnt be discussed in front of consumers. It just doesn't work. The same as discussing how to operate a marketing campaign for fonterra won't interest half of you guys.

Setting up a sepearte forum is a piece of cake as we know. Making it effective by usage is the hard part No point in doing it if no one wants it.

I don't understand why we need a thread on Geekzone for Trademe, which, as has been said, already has a forum. I agree with Nate its a mess there so leave it there.
