A positive experience report:

I wanted a USB 3.0 hub because my iMac needs more ports (and I need to be able to get at them more easily than poking around the back where I cannot see them!).

Found one on MA via GZ for around $50. Ordered Thursday afternoon. Delivered Friday morning to our PO Box.

Great service, that.

Good product too so far btw - 3 USB 2 ports and 4 USB 3 ports (why not just 7 USB 3 I don't know - they are backwards compatible I believe) each with an on/off switch. Works like a charm so far. Brand is 'Mbeat'.

I've had mine for around a year and just recently bought a new one for my desk at work to plug into my Surface.

I've had nothing but great service from Mighty Ape.

Products are always shipped fast and arrive overnight, they also respond to emails regarding order updates etc really quick.

Mighty Ape are one of the few local companies I have dealt with that get it right for online.

I do try to support them as much as I can, but really a drive to PBtech is easier most of the time.

In my experience, they are also quite willing to price match if you can find a better deal elsewhere.

Mighty Ape pricing match + urgent delivery (same day between 6-8pm) usually gets my business.  Driving to PbTech is easy enough but you often to wait ages for service then haggle them to price match.

If MA dont price match in time (usually theyre ok at this, wish it was faster) then I drive down to PB

Plus, MA have a far wider range of product types than PB... PB wouldn't sell you a Voltron 30th Anniversary Collector's Set, for example ;)

Maybe I'm a little biased, having been dealing with them since they opened as GameZone in the mid 90s, but they are one of the few companies that I have never had a negative experience dealing with.

Mightyape went well beyond reaonable steps to help my Nephew out.
Brought an xbox 360 game, and on the first day of use the cat knocked over the xbox wile the disc was being read == big scratches on the disc and it wouldn't work.

Sent it back to mighty ape asking them if they could do anything, they ran the disc through their scratch removal process, and it cleaned up and worked fine. No charge.
(We tried a commercial disc scratch removal at a DVD shop too, but it didnt work.)

Brilliant.

I think they were a bit too expensive when they started.

But, they seem to have really improved their service and pricing.

Another +1 for MightyApe, and I'd just like to add I do the occasional survey on the NZ Valued Opinions website and over a year or so have racked up literally hundreds of dollars in mighty ape vouchers, without really spending too much time on the surveys. Definitely recommend them!

(I don't work for valued opinions, just thought people here on Geekzone should know about it)
