Have a look at the books section on Trade Me.

Select everything and then put them in highest price order...!

There are simple 350 page text books with price tags over $4,000 per copy. Surely that can't be right?

Some seem to be someone taking the piss (no reserve start price of $16, but $19k buy now), while others are genuinely high-priced textbooks such as the Landolt-Bornstein series - H2O (HOH) Part 1 for instance is about $5800 even on Amazon.

I can't understand most of those prices.

Especially, the Science textbooks.

Perhaps buying this may shed some light (also in the Trademe list) ...

"The Essence of Value - Secrets of Desired Products"

A steal at a mere $3,125.09 per item.

Books at that price deserve to be pirated.

This.

Unless they are uber-esoteric specialist books which may sell only a few hundred copies.

That must be a stupid currency tranfer mistake. That book is around $70 in Aus or US.

perhaps the price was increased instead of pulling the auction?

You're not on Atlantis anymore, Duncan Idaho.
