69 isn't very old these days....Most of my family have made it to at least 80 (except those who smoked - cancer) and some well into their 90s and still going.

Both Bowie and Rickman died of cancer - age doesn't really matter in that case.

Yeah, one of the guys from Bowie's old backing group The Spiders from Mars died of cancer in 1993 at age 46. I'll be that age this coming birthday.

So many males have died recently around that age (mid 60's to mid 70's) of similar type of diseases. Cancer is a disease that often affects older people more, as the older you get, the more likely you are to get it. eg the more sun exposure you get, the more exposure you get to asbestos particles in the environment, pollution etc, which all builds up in the body.

I did think he looked a bit ropey the last time he was on TV, as I thought he looked like he had aged a lot, may have been graham norton. So it wasn't a big surprise. He looked young in harry potter, because he dyed his hair, and I was surprised he was as old has he was at the time that was filmed, as he did look younger.
