Not sure how much of a personality he was over here but sad to report we have lost another cultural giant to cancer.

I'd never heard of him, so guessing this is more a pom thing.

I'm a geek, a gamer, a dad, a Quic user, and an IT Professional. I have a full rack home lab, size 15 feet, an epic beard and Asperger's. I'm a bit of a Cypherpunk, who believes information wants to be free and the Net interprets censorship as damage and routes around it. If you use my Quic signup you can also use the code R570394EKGIZ8 for free setup.

Generally although any Kiwi who spent much time living and working in the UK in the last 25 years will certainly have heard of him. Amongst a great many other things, he was the voice of the BBC breakfast radio show on Radio 2 for a long time and had well over 8 million listeners every day to that.

He was a radio personality with a brain, not like the plastics we get here.
